Cornerstone Theater Company

Online Intensives

Join in conversation and creative practice with Cornerstone Theater Co. & other folks interested in centering community stories onstage.

Cornerstone Theater’s Intensive is designed for anyone interested in making community-engaged theater (or other art): artists, educators, organizers, and curious others. Learn about Cornerstone’s unique methodology for making new plays with and about communities.

This workshop is happening in Zoomland and capacity is limited to 20 participants.

With curriculum based on Cornerstone’s 30+ year history and facilitated by longtime company artists including founding ensemble member Peter Howard, the workshop draws on participants’ input and creativity for activities, exercises and conversations including: choosing and engaging communities; cultural mapping; story-gathering, scriptwriting and adaptation; design in a community context and rehearsal room strategies. The intensive culminates with participants putting these elements into practice by creating short collaborative performances.
