Community Council

The Community Council is a sounding board, liaison, and advocate between Cornerstone Theater Company and the community. We support community members through their creative journey. We uphold Cornerstone’s vision of building bridges between and within diverse communities in Los Angeles.

Here’s who we are and the time and place we started with Cornerstone. We’ve all been involved in many projects since then, but you never forget your first.

Frank Ayala (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2014 with Urban Rez.

Janine Betts (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2013 with Love on San Pedro.

Iris Gonzalez (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2009 with Jason in Eureka.

Jenny Marlowe (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2014 with Urban Rez.

Magaly Meza (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2012 with Cafe Vida.

Carmen Navarro (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2016 with Ghost Town.

Kenneth Ramos (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2012 with Urban Rez.

Lorinda Hawkins Smith (2017-present) first became involved with Cornerstone in 2014 with Seed: A Weird Act of Faith.
