Breast Cancer Survivor
I am a former Cornerstone boardmember and a young breast cancer patient. As a cancer patient, I hear a lot about how your diet can impact your chances of contracting cancer or a recurrence of cancer. I was a pescetarian for almost 15 years and I haven’t eaten red meat or pork since 1990, but I was still diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 38 – with no family history. Another note: since diagnosis a couple of people who have not personally experienced cancer have sworn to me that green tea cures breast cancer. They meant well, but it doesn’t help at all (and I hear other breast cancer survivors say the same thing).
I am a participant in a breast cancer Twitter group – please contact me @zapladybug if you would like to talk with the members who are in LA. We’re planning to get together soon.
