Creative Seeds

Creative Seeds are a host of art-filled events inspired by  our collaborating communities. Through different mediums we invite you to explore the issues and themes of our Hunger Cycle plays. Below you will find information about Creative Seeds for our upcoming production, Magic Fruit, the culminating play in our Hunger Cycle. All Creative Seeds events are FREE and open to all! Explore the magic and express yourself at our upcoming FREE Playwriting Workshop facilitated by award-winning playwright Jim McManus. The first event in our Magic Fruit Creative Seeds Series. Jim also wrote “Love on San Pedro“, Cornerstone’s fourth Hunger Cycle production that premiered in 2013. The workshop will focus on the  craft of playwriting. All experiences levels welcome!

Sound & Healing Sunday, October 29 2:00pm

Learn and transform at our upcoming FREE participatory art-making activity focused around sound, its applications in healing, and its capacity to promote cooperation, listening, and openness—qualities vital to transformation. This workshop will be facilitated by UCI Professor Dr. Anthony Kubiak and will take place in the sanctuary at Beit T’Shuvah, our community partner from our fifth play in the Hunger Cycle, Blisspoint.

Art & Music of the Magic Fruit– Saturday, November 11 at 3:00pm

Come celebrate the imminent opening of Magic Fruit. Meet some of our Magic Makers (the Creative Team behind the making of Magic Fruit), view the evolution of the show’s designs, and get some insight about their creative processes. Nosh on their work à la carte before you feast on them all-at-once at a performance

Breaking “Bread”– Monday, November 20 6:30pm

Join us for Bread, a performance, workshop and panel discussion focused around this staple and its multi-faceted significance, how we nourish our communities and each other, and social enterprise.  Nancy Keystone of Critical Mass Performance Group will lead the workshop, and will be held at L.A. Kitchen, our community partner for our eighth Hunger Cycle production, fellowship, a play for volunteers.
